The George Harrison Memorial Foundation was incorporated in the State of Missouri on August 31, 2006. It was established to honor the former Beatles performer by the creation of a garden and performance center to be built on the economically disadvantaged Troost Avenue corridor in Kansas City, Missouri. The garden will offer public green spaces, educational and community participation opportunities to Kansas City residents and its visitors.

January 10, 2007 -- Students from Texas A & M University help plant 5,000 tulips* at a temporary George Harrison Memorial Garden site on Troost Avenue.

*Tulips donated by Southtown Foundation's Tulips on Troost.
